BSSAA NJ Scholarship Recipient 2016

(Sicklerville, NJ – September 7, 2016) - The Boca Secondary School Alumni Association NJ Chapter Scholarship Program was established through the generosity of Alumni and Friends of the Association. The scholarship program was created to financially assist students at the Boca Secondary School who excelled academically and expressed interest to pursue their college degree at T.A Marryshow College. The 2016 scholarship award recipient is Allahna Telesford. Allahna has been awarded an academic scholarship in the amount of $802.43 EC to assist with one year of tuition cost at T.A. Marryshow College.
Allahna Telesford is 16 years of age and is a resident of Fontenoy, St. George's, Grenada. Allahna graduated valedictorian for her graduating class of 2016 and achieved ten (10) passes in various subject areas in the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate Examinations.
Allahna’s passion for the Sciences was formed at Boca Secondary School at an early age. She was an integral part of the Boca Secondary School Community where she participated in various extra curriculum activities which formed the foundation for her to move on to the next phase in her life.
Allahna had a well-rounded academic experience at Boca Secondary School where she participated in the following extra curriculum activities while at school:
- Girl Guides
- Young Leaders 
- Junior Achievers
- SGU Knowledge Bowl
Allahna states that, “The five years spent at the Boca Secondary School was exceptional. I grew physically, academically, emotionally and spiritually stronger. I was taught many things which today are engraved in me. I am deeply thankful for that journey in my life because today I am resilient and more determined than ever.” Allahna plans to major in the Sciences at T.A. Marryshow College and she believes that being a part of a group gives you a sense of identity and helps you to grow and develop. She also believes that her faith, determination, dedication and devotion helps her to face everyday challenges. 
The BSSAA, NJ Chapter is proud to be able to extend this academic scholarship to a very deserving student and encourages current students to apply themselves in their academics and athletics because we are paving a way that supports academic excellence.
